Annual General Meeting

Since the launch of the Australasian chapter in 2016, we’ve made significant progress in establishing a strong, independent presence in the region—while maintaining close ties with RIA globally. Key milestones include the successful establishment of the Australian Restoration Conference and Trade Show, the introduction of international education offerings, and active support for the adoption of IICRC standards as Australian standards.

We’ve also taken meaningful steps in industry advocacy, including the appointment of a dedicated advocate to represent our sector to insurers, government, and regulatory bodies. Most notably, we’ve developed the first Restoration Industry Code of Practice—a foundational step toward improving consistency, accountability, and recognition across the industry.

Improving professionalism, visibility, and long-term viability within the restoration sector benefits us all. Greater government recognition could unlock accredited training pathways, funding access, and more equitable conditions across the industry. Active engagement with organisations such as the National Emergency Management Agency, the Insurance Council, and other key bodies will ensure our voice is heard where it matters most.

Serving on the RIA board or a subcommittee provides an invaluable opportunity to:

  • Contribute directly to policy, standards, and education
  • Share your insights and help shape the industry agenda
  • Build meaningful relationships across the restoration and insurance ecosystem—locally and globally
