The RIA Inc. Australasia Restoration Awards were established to recognise restoration businesses who have demonstrated outstanding customer service, technical excellence and professionalism through a restoration project.
The professionals who restore damaged property following floods, fires and other events have a unique role in a setting of personal tragedy and stress; they strive to restore the damaged property in the most effective way possible. Professional restorers respond to these crises every day, performing an essential human service.
Restoration professionals are also at the forefront of addressing challenges around sustainability, cost of repairs and the increasing focus of governments and organisations around the world on environmental, social and governance standards.
They are not only tasked with repairing physical damage but also with implementing practices that minimise environmental impact, promote social responsibility, and adhere to governance principles. By doing so, they ensure that their work contributes to a more sustainable and ethically responsible future, balancing the immediate needs of disaster recovery with long-term environmental stewardship and societal well-being.
The Restoration Industry Association established the RIA Restoration Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Restoration to acknowledge these achievements in Australia.
The award categories include the RIA Inc. Residential Restoration Project of the Year Award, the RIA Inc. Commercial Restoration Project of the Year Award and the RIA Inc. Innovative Restoration Project of the Year Award.
The RIA Australasia Education Scholarship is an opportunity for restoration field technicians and administrative staff that are staff of RIA Inc. Ordinary Member businesses and have 1 - 4 years of industry experience to enhance their industry knowledge and qualifications.
The RIA Inc. Australasian Education Scholarship is dedicated to advancing the careers of its members within the restoration industry. The primary aim of the scholarship is to foster industry excellence by providing financial support for further education and training, thereby enhancing professional growth and promoting long-term career opportunities for aspiring restoration field technicians and administrative staff.
This scholarship has been established with a dual focus: to elevate the standards of practice through promoting education and to encourage sustained employment within the restoration industry by equipping members with the necessary skills and knowledge.
The Restoration Australia Industry Service Award is a prestigious new honour recognising individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the Australian restoration industry. More than just providing restoration services, this award celebrates those who have actively shaped and advanced the industry through their dedication, leadership, and innovation over a minimum of 25 years of active involvement.
Nominees must have gone beyond their core restoration work to drive progress in the industry, whether through education, technological advancements, or leadership within key industry associations. Eligible contributions may include:
Importantly, nominees do not need to still be working within the industry. This award recognizes the long-term impact of their contributions, whether past or present. It acknowledges individuals whose passion and commitment have played a pivotal role in elevating the Australian restoration industry, ensuring its growth, professionalism, and global alignment.
